Ancient Crawlers are one of the activities scattered around Kairos, and they’re always worth doing for their free loot. However, finding them and knowing how to power up the release clamps can be quite a bit of work. Below, we’ve listed every Ancient Crawler in Borderlands 4, along with where to find the battery and how to use it to power up the release clamps.
How to Activate Slugmetal Ditch in Borderlands 4
Slugmetal Ditch Location & Release Clamps
Slugmetal Ditch is found in the Coastal Bonescape of The Fadefields, and players will first need to find the powered battery. This battery can be found on a raised platform when facing east, just before a large pillar with a skull that reads ‘RIP’. With the battery now in hand, double jump and glide over to the pillar to find the release clamps beside a pile of garbage. With the release clamps now activated, look to the north to find a grapple station, where you can pull yourself up and then climb the wall off to the left to then grapple to the top, where you’ll find the Crawler Vehicle Part: Smiley.
How to Activate The Roaming Pasture in Borderlands 4
The Roaming Pasture Location & Release Clamps
The Roaming Pasture is found in the Hungering Plain region of The Fadefields, and players can locate its battery by looking to the east once they’re in the area. Pick up the battery and turn around, as you can now let go of the battery, jump up the scaffolding, and pull the battery up. Once you’re facing the large Crawler, throw the battery up the ladder and then climb the ladder. This first floor is where the battery needs to go, so now you can just climb the remaining ladder and look up to find a grapple point, which will pull you up and allow you to grab the Awooooo! Vehicle Cosmetic.
How to Activate The Eminent Husk in Borderlands 4
The Eminent Husk Location & Release Clamps
Eminent Husk is located in the southeast area of Idolator’s Noose in The Fadefields. Once you’ve made it to this Ripper-infested site, pick up the battery on the back of a truck, and then jump onto the truck’s roof to double jump up to some scaffolding. You can now jump from here to the release clamps, which is on top of the Crawler. Once the battery has been placed into the release clamps, simply follow the path upwards to the left to climb the wall, and then mantle up to get to the Afterparty Vehicle Cosmetic.

Pester’s Grotto is a tad more complex, so we’ve attached a video so you can visually see where to go!
Head into the south region of Idolator’s Noose in The Fadefields to find Pester’s Grotto. Once here, look to the east to find the battery station, and then hit the red button beside the station to activate an air chute. Step into the chute without jumping and then glide forward, and throw the battery up so that you can grapple to the platform safely. Now, head to the right of the Crawler and climb up the ladder, but don’t forget to pull the battery up behind you. Climb the next ladder, and pull the battery up, where you can place it in the station to activate and grab the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee Vehicle Customization.
How to Activate The Great Work in Borderlands 4
The Great Work Location & Release Clamps
The Great Work Crawler is found in Cuspid Climb of Terminus Range. Once inside this area crawling with Order soldiers, look south west and up to find a grapple point. Now, follow the path to the right to find another grapple point against the wall, and follow to the left to find the battery and a ramp. Take the battery and use the ramp to double jump and glide on top of the Crawler. Now, look to the red crate and open it with a yank of your grapple, and pull the battery back up. Once across, drop the battery and climb the ladder, then yank the small platform at the center of the building, and bring the battery back up. You can now mantle up the small platform against the wall and pull the battery up to the release clamps to get the Future Proof Vehicle Cosmetic.

Stonewarden might be harder to complete than other Crawlers, so check out the video for a visual guide!
The north region of Cuspid Climb holds the Stonewarden Ancient Crawler site. To start, head south to mantle up a building, and then follow the northeast path up some rocks to grapple above, where you’ll find a ramp that can be jumped over and used to glide across to the Crawler’s surface. Look below and drop a bit to grab the battery at the dismantled vehicle, and use your final jump to get back on top. Now, jump on the red crate and jump across to the higher platform with the battery, and throw it above you. Head south and climb the wall, and use the height to glide back to the next platform. Pull the battery up, then grapple a wall ledge to bring out a new platform that allows you to jump up to place the battery and get the Bestia Rossa Vehicle Cosmetic.
How to Activate Eureka Stane in Borderlands 4

You can find Eureka Stane in The Low Leys of Terminus Range. Face the crawler and look southeast, where on the right side, you will be able to see a grapple station above you. Grapple up and walk across the crawler, where you can then look north west to find a piece of scaffolding held up by a crane. Jump and glide over to the scaffolding to find the battery. With the battery acquired, glide back over to the Crawler and place the battery within the slot available on the central surface by the Creep nest. Now, follow the left side to climb ladders and wall climb until you reach the top to grab the La Verdita Vehicle Cosmetic.
How to Activate Forgotten Cornerstone in Borderlands 4
Forgotten Cornerstone Location & Release Clamps
Forgotten Cornerstone is the Crawler available in the north region of the Low Leys within a cave. Once here, look below the Crawler to walk through the icicles to grab the battery, and then walk up the stairs through the Crawler to return to its surface. With the battery in hand, throw it up against the ledge so it’s on the raised platform, and then look to the right to climb the wall so you can drop above and pick the battery back up. Now, head to the left side to find a mantle point so you can then return to the right side and climb the wall, where you can simply jump across to the highest point of the Crawler. From here, pull the battery back up and place it in the hatch to get the Wellspring-Loaded Vehicle Cosmetic.
How to Activate The Belle in Borderlands 4
The Belle Location & Release Clamps
The Belle can be found on the south side of Lopside in Carcadia Burn. Once here, you’ll want to grapple onto the Crawler from the right side when facing west, and then find the battery on top, which can be tossed upwards so that you can climb the ladders, drop the battery, and pull it up after you. After climbing both sets of ladders and bringing the battery up, you can place it, then look up for a grapple point that takes you directly up to the Never Say DIY Vehicle Cosmetic.
How to Activate Crumpled Lurch in Borderlands 4

Crumpled Lurch is the Crawler found in Tonnage Peel in Carcadia Burn. After arriving here, look north west to find the battery against a singular building. With the battery acquired, head south where you can foillow a ramp upwards, to then jump across a platform to your left to place the battery. Jump up this platform, and then head left again to grapple across a ridge, where climbing the stairs will allow you to reach the top to get the Frenzy Forever Vehicle Cosmetic.
How to Activate Wanton Tread in Borderlands 4

Wanton’s Tread is located in the western area of the Ruined Sumplands of Carcadia Burn, and once players arrive, they can pick up the battery found in a scrap heap on the left side. Now, head into the Crawler by following the giant arrow sign. After walking up the stairs and following them up to the left, you can jump up a red crate to then jump across the upper platform of the Crawler. Once up, the battery can be placed on the wall, and now just follow the right side to mantle upwards, then follow the left path for the final mantle, where you will finally be able to get the Prison Buddy Vehicle Cosmetic.
